My Chocolate Truffles
For a number of years Darlene had seen a beautiful what appeared to be a bay leopard mare for sale with world
champion bloodlines featuring Zip's Chocolate Chip top and bottom. In 2008, the opportunity to purchase this mare
came along and Darlene did not hesitate. In December, 2008, My Chocolate Truffles made the trip from her former
home in Tucson, Arizona to Fairfield, Washington.
Within no time at all, Darlene discovered that she really didn't have the abilities to ride and show Truffles to this pretty
mare's true potential so arrangements were made to train with Jimmy Brown of Sun Dun Ranch in Rockford,
Washington. While primarily a reining trainer, Jimmy's credentials are impressive to say the least. While Darlene had
aimed to take Truffles to the 2008 ApHC Worlds, it was discovered that a lot of work was going to be needed to bond
Darlene's riding skills together with Truffles natural talent so the two just showed on the local circuit. Still, after being
absent from riding classes after ten years, Darlene had a great time showing Truffles.
