Darlene Neisess's interest in photography began 20 to 25 years ago. Having no formal training, she none
the less pursued the desire to capture pictures on film as she saw them. From what turned out to be just a
few pictures out of a roll of 12 soon became 90% of the roll as to being acceptable for what she sought.
Taking pictures before the digital era proved to having to find a photo lab capable of cropping and resizing
pictures to her specifications. In the beginning, she used a Canon AE-1 manual set on automatic with a
70-210mm lens. After a failed photo shoot in California wherein the pictures turned out nicely but unable to
sell any because of not having the ability to display them on site; she saved money to purchase a Canon
Rebel XSi with a Canon 70-300 mm lens.
Darlene is known for her patience behind the lens when photographing animals, waiting for that perfect
shot to come along. Since she is not well established as a professional photographer, her prices are very
reasonable. Beginning in 2010, she will be available for private sessions as well as equine events. Pictures
will be available for review. Finished prints will be processed through one of Spokane's top photography labs
in metallic, lustre or gloss finish of your choice.
